FORCE PLATE
UNDERSTANDING YOUR CENTRE OF MASS & BASE SUPPORT
The force plate system provides detailed insight into how a person distributes and controls force while simply standing in a static posture, which is more useful than it sounds. By measuring centre of mass, weight distribution between feet, and subtle sway and rotational patterns, it reveals underlying imbalances, asymmetries, or stability issues that often go unnoticed.
In golf, these static tendencies frequently carry into movement: for example, a golfer who naturally biases weight toward their toes or one side while standing may struggle with balance during the swing, leading to common faults like early extension, swaying, or inconsistent ground force use. Because the golf swing builds from setup, understanding these baseline force patterns helps coaches connect posture to dynamic errors—showing how an inefficient starting position can disrupt sequencing, power transfer, and club delivery before the swing even begins.
